2020 College Basketball Regular Season Betting Predictions

With the 2019/2020 College Basketball season in its early stages, it is time to start making some predictions that could potentially put some money in your pocket. The odds have been released, but the question that many NCAA basketball fans are asking is if the reigning national champion, the Virginia Cavaliers, can make it to back to back finals, and even more important, claim their second straight national title.

There are some heavy candidates the 2019-20 season, so before we get into the action, let’s review the current odds and make some 2020 college basketball betting predictions on what could lie ahead for the coming NCAA Basketball campaign.

Conference Championship Odds

ACC Conference

Duke: +250
Virginia: +400
Louisville: +400
North Carolina: +600

The North Carolina Tar Heels won six fewer games than Virginia a season ago, but Carolina looks poised to win the ACC this season over the Cavaliers and Duke, seeing as how Roy Williams has everyone back from last season’s team except star point guard Coby White and one other player.

Big 12

Kansas: +200
Texas Tech: +400
Baylor: +400
Oklahoma: +600

While it was nice to see how the Texas Tech and K-State handled much stronger rivals, this time I expect the Kansas Jayhawks to recover their role as the leading squad in the Big 12 Conference. I predict Kansas to get back on top in the Big 12 and come as the number one team in their conference.

Big East

Villanova: +225
Marquette: +450
Seton Hall: +450
Xavier: +600

While every single team in the competitive Big east is ranked in the national Top 100, I’m going with Villanova to win their fourth straight Big East crown. Five-star freshmen Bryan Antoine and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl look fantastic and I believe Jay Wright is undeniably the best coach in the conference.

Big Ten

Michigan State: +150
Maryland: +600
Purdue: +600
Michigan: +700

With Purdue and Michigan both reloading, Michigan State is the super easy pick to win the Big Ten as a +140 pick.

Pac-12

Oregon: +250
Arizona: +400
Washington: +450
Colorado: +700

While the Oregon Ducks finished fourth in the Pac-12 a year ago, Oregon has boosted their roster in a big way this offseason and that will give them some extra leverage over their conference rivals.

SEC

Kentucky: +225
Florida: +450
LSU: +700
Auburn: +900

Despite their ninth place finish in the SEC last season, the Florida Gators have brought reinforcements, and that makes me believe that they stand a great chance to surpass Kentucky, LSU and Auburn as the top team in the SEC conference.

2020 National Championship Prediction

Michigan State Spartans

I usually don’t like betting on top favorites, but it will be hard ignoring that No. 1 Michigan State not only has the best odds, but the best overall program in the NCAA. Point guard Cassius Winston is perhaps the smartest player in the league and swingman Joshua Langford has been playing like a potential NBA star. Add to that head coach Tom Izzo, and the fact that he and his team will be hungry after coming up just short last season.
